What we do

All About Fixin’ is a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) Program for East Texas. We select unmanaged community cat populations and try to trap 100% of the cats to take them to the vet for spay/neutering and vaccines. After their surgery and recovery, we will return the cats to their community.

Did you know?

  • There are an estimated 70-100 million community cats in the United States.

  • Only 3% of free ranging community cats are neutered or spayed.

  • One intact female can produce over 100 kittens in a 7 year period.

  • Approximately 80% of kittens are born outdoors to community cats and 85% will die as kittens due to environmental causes and unsafe locations.

  • Approximately 72% of the community cats that enter shelters will be euthanized.

  • The cost to manage 1 cat in a shelter for adoption or euthanasia ($51-$123) is a much greater cost than the spay or neuter surgery ($20-$97).

Who We Are

All About Fixin’ is run by all volunteers!

Our board members are cat lovers and cat rescuers.

Karen - I own a small farm in East Texas with my husband and 4 children. We have a donkey, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, and a guard turkey, named Big Tony. We have lots of cats we’ve rescued over the years. Most of them living happily outside. Some who keep their distance but know when it’s feeding time and some who come inside including Solis who is a TNVR rescue kitten (pictured with me) and Percy who we found on the side of the road when he was a kitten who wears diapers and needs his bladder expressed daily. All are very happy and found a home here. I am an environmental engineer and my husband is a program manager. Our kids keep us busy with their school and sporting events.

Pam - I live in East Texas and have been doing TNVR by myself for a number of years to help manage the community cat population of East Texas. I also work to relocate community cats who live in dangerous locations.

Tracey - I own a small farm with my husband and 4 boys. We have a donkey, a turkey, goats, ducks, dogs, cats, and more chickens than I can count. I am a nurse and my husband works at a lumber yard. We have rescued animals for many years now and want to work to help the community cats in our area.
